The Senior Deductions and Cash Application Analyst is a subject matter expert on processes related to Deductions and Cash Application. This position will use data to identify issues and risks, determine root cause drivers and facilitate discussions with internal and external customers to resolve issues. The Senior Deduction and Cash Application Analyst will be the first point of contact for all inquiry and questions that arise. This role will build strong business partnerships with business managers, commercial excellence, finance, accounting, and shared service teams. This position reports to the Sr Manager, Order to Cash.

Job Description:

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the subject matter expert all deductions and cash application processes within Order to Cash.

  • Troubleshoots and resolves escalated issues.

  • Collaborates with Financial Analyst(s) for data analysis, reporting and KPI related tasks, utilizing results to drive business decisions and resolve business problems.

  • Assists Order to Cash leadership with strategy and implementation of Order to Cash initiatives.

  • Identifies and leads process improvement opportunities.

  • Maintains agreement documentation, including set up and revisions.

  • Audits customer account balances to ensure our financial records are accurately represented; Keeps a reconciliation mindset for balance resolution and drives for completeness

  • Escalates issues and errors timely and acts in the best interest of Winland Foods in all matters

  • Provides assistance in the research of customer gross to net sales activities.

  • Audits deduction samples quarterly (as determined by Sr. Mgr. order to Cash)

  • Participates in agreement reviews with Commercial Excellence and Finance.

  • Ensures desktop procedures are updated and maintained.

  • Acts as a training resource to other team members.

  • Projects and audit requests as assigned.

  • Handles post-audit customer requests as needed to facilitate timely resolution

  • Processes deductions for assigned portfolio

  • Applies cash as needed for complexity and acts as a back up for Cash Applicators PTO and heavy volume support.

  • Processes month-end transactions and reconciliations.

  • Completes first pass KPI, reporting and commentary development

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Deduction and Cash Application role

  • Experience within the Consumer-Packaged Goods industry preferred

  • Experience with SAP and Vistex preferred

  • Process improvement experience preferred

  • Demonstrated strong financial and analytical skills

  • Ability to think creatively and solve problems, using sound judgement

  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced dynamic work environment, meeting deadlines with accurate and detailed results

  • Results driven with a focus on high performance, and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills (formal and informal) with business acumen and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, setting a tone of working in partnership and collaboration

  • Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams)

  • Occasional travel to business meetings may be required
